Helena sat there one the couch, sharpening her arm blades. She was extremely tired but found that she could not sleep. Three AM and still awake. Quite the insomniac. "I swear if that guy calls me one more time..." The rest of the sentence was mumbled incoherently. Bert Vaughn, owner of Animators INC., had found out that she was quite the Necromancer. Well, ever since he had been bothering her to work for him. Her answer had always remained the same, "FUCK OFF!" She lay her head back and took a deep breath, slowly letting it out. Life was so boring lately. "I wish things would change..."

Candiedinia rolled over and tugged the blanket from her face. She groaned sleepily and got out of her bed. She stretched, groggy as hell, and walked out into the living room. She leaned against the doorway and stared at her friend. "Bert still calling?" She yawned and scratched her stomach. Her long burgandy hair fell to her belly button, curling every which way. Bed hair. You gotta love it. The slip clung to her body. It was chillier than usual in the house. She felt goosebumps creep up her arm and she quickly rubbed them away. Yawning once more, she looked back towards her friend. She raised one eyebrow, waiting.

"He never stops." She groaned and leaned forward. Her mind was swimming. She needed some excitment in her life, not some rediculous job raising the dead for other people. "I hope Dolph calls soon, or I may lose my mind." Dolph was the head of a team known as RPIT. Regional Preternatural Investigation Taskforce. They specialized in cases that had to do with the monsters. Helena's job was to make sure they figured out what was doing it. Candiednia's job was to help her catch the monster that was causing the...problems. She put her blades back into their sheaths and set them down on the coffee table.

Candiedinia wrapped her hands around her hair and pulled the mess over her collarbone. She sighed, releasing all tiredness. "I'm getting a snack." She turned and walked seven feet to the kitchen. She opened the fridge and was bathed in a rush of cold air. The chill went up and down her body, not missing an inch. She shivered and quickly adjusted to the temporary climate change. There were things of yogurt and applesauce in the bottom right drawer, string cheese was in the same one, and then there were leftover pieces of cake on the stop shelf. "Ooh..." Her hand went for the plastic covered platter when the home phone went off. She made a small hmph sound and picked up the ringing receiver. "Hello?" The man stated his business and Candiedinia's tone of voice changed. "Oh, yes, one moment please." She walked back to the living room, phone in hand. "Are you psychic or something? It's Dolph."

Helena looked up at Candiedinia's face and grinned. "Of course I'm psychic." She took the phone and pressed it to her ear. "Hello?" She waited for Dolph to speak. It's like he heard her wishes. She wanted to go out and kick some ass. It was her favorite pass time. She resisted the urge to chuckle. No, she wasn't crazy...yet. Killing did still bother her. It hurt to kill off living creatures, monster or not. Yet, evil had to be stopped. Innocents didn't deserve to die.

Sergeant Storr held the phone to his ear as he sat in his car, attempting to drown out the chaos outside. "Miss Dragonetti, there's been a murder. We need you down here." He hoped she would come to the scene. Helena Dragonetti was the most gifted woman he knew, and most helpful, for sure. For a while now she's been helping the "spook squad" with intense cases. They themselves knew a bit, otherwise, why be on a team like that? But there were just some cases where they couldn't determine the creature that had done the killing.

Helena stood up and headed toward her room. "How many victims?" She manage to get her pajama pants off on teh phone and slip on a pair of black jeans. "And where should I meet you?" She shoved her feet into a pair of boots and let out a sigh. "And Dolph...how bad is it?" If it was going to be beyond gorey, she needed to prepare herself. She put her black jean jacket on and grabbed a hair tie as she ran out of her room. She wasn't sure how long it would take to get there.

Dolph let out a sigh. "There's only one victim but..." He paused and looked back out into the graveyard, the corpse still fresh in his mind. "It's pretty bad, Helena. I would prepare yourself..." He gave her the directions and hung up without saying "bye". He never bothered. If you heard a dial tone, you knew there was nothing left to be said.

Helena put the phone down and turned to face Candiedinia. "I have to go to work, so I'll be back as soon as I can." SHe grabbed a duffle bag that sat next to the couch and hurried out the door. She'd probably be gone for a few hours. By the time she finished, she would probably have to head back and get ready for the day. She made the quick drive to the cemetary and got out. "What do you got for me, Dolph?

Dolph dismissed one of his deputies and turned back around to face Helena. "Dragonetti, thanks for coming." He walked a bit closer towards the scene of the crime, expecting her to follow. He stopped six feet from the body and cocked his head in the direction of it. "That's it, Helena. Vampire. Chest torn out, almost gone compeletely." He swallowed hard. "Can you just figure out what it is so we can go home?"

Helena stepped forward and took a look down at the body. The vampire was male, and like Dolph had said, now had his chest ripped wide open. Rib cage tore open too. "It looks like a Ghoul attack." She took a look around the cemetary. "But there are no Ghouls in this cemetary." Helena was confused. "Ghouls don't tend to travel, so I'm not entirely sure, Dolph." She knealed by the body. "My gut is pointing towards Ghouls though."

Dolph's hand was clutching his chin, finger on his lips. He nodded. "Okay. If there's anything more you find out, just call." He dismissed her and watched as she walked away. "Damn." He rubbed his temples with exhaustion. "What a night." And what he would never tell anyone, was that he lusted after Helena Dragonetti. But no one could find out, his wife would kill him. Things just keep getting harder and harder. He looked down at his shoes, then noticed a bulge in his pants. Heh. How ironic...

Helena climbed into her car and looked at the time. 5:30 AM. Yeah, just about time to wake up and get ready for the day. She picked up her cell and checked her messages. One was old and from the place she took martial arts. The next was from Bert. "Hey Hel-" She pressed a button. "Delete!" The last voice took her breath away. "Helena, it's Jean-Claude. We need to talk. Soon, please. You know where to find me." She shut her phone and let out a long sigh. SHe hadn't heard from Jean-Claude in over two months. Why now? She headed home and wlaked through the front door, falling onto the couch. "I don't want syrup on my waffles yet, mommy." She groaned.

Candiedinia was in the kitchen, waffle mix in hand. She walked into the living room, stilling holding the box, and peaked in. "I'm not your mommy, but why don't you want syrup on your waffles?" She chuckled and kneeled by Helena on the couch. "What did Dolph want? Was it really bad?" She set down the box and stared at her friend expectantly. She was so beautiful, even after she came home from murder scenes. She had always been jealous of Helena. Probably always will be.

Helena's bright green eyes stared up at her best friend. "What do you mean I don't want syrup!?" She sat up quickly. "Of course I want syrup on my waffles!" She was wore out. "Ghouls, I think." She lay back again, letting out a long sigh. "Vampire. Entire chest ripped open." She could hear her alarm clock going off. 'Back In Black by ACDC' was blasting through the speakers. "Time to wake up!" She felt delusional. Maybe she was crazy.

Candiedinia distorted her face into a strange frown, thinking. "That sounds messy..." She looked down at the waffle mix on the floor and picked it up. "Well, I'm going to make waffles. So, go take a shower or something to wake up fully. I'll be in the kitchen." Candiedinia stood and walked into the kitchen. She poured the mix into a bowl and added the rest of the needed ingredients to make their favorite breakfast food. She was hoping that Helena wasn't going to lose her mind over this next case. Things just seemed to be taking her mind further and further away from her body. And it scared her...

Helena stood up from the couch and headed toward her room. They each had their own bathroom decorated how they wanted. She stared into the mirror and let out a sigh. The black and red shower curtain really brought out the green in her eyes. "I'm exhausted." She turned and leaned against the sink. She didn't really want to take a shower. That would mean moving a lot. That would mean standing for a long period of time. "Gah..." She walked forward and turned the water on. "Whatever." She checked the temperature and let out a sigh. She was so sick of life being so dull. Then Jean-Claude calls and she starts a new case. What was going on? I'm losing it, that's what's going on. She slipped off her jacket and shirt and threw them into the hamper. With much difficulty she removed her boots and then managed to completely undress. She turned and looked in the mirror once more. Her breasts were way too big for her line of work at a 38 DD, but she managed. Her butt completed her barbie doll look. She hated it, but most thought it was perfect. "Whatever!!!" She climbed into the shower and let the water hit her back. "Aaah."

Candiedinia poured the waffle mixture into the iron pan and squeezed it together. "In thirty-three seconds, the first waffle will be done." She took a whiff of the aroma coming from the hot iron and sighed with pleasure. "Ahh... I love the smell of waffles in the morning..." She waited twenty more seconds, then pulled the waffle off the iron. "Time for waffle number two!" She placed it in and felt something crawling up her back. She turned and saw a glimpse of a man in the doorway, staring at her. She looked closer and recognized the man. Though she knew very well he was no longer one. He was a creature of the night. Dirty blood sucker... "What brings you here so early in the morning, Willie? It'll be morning soon."

Willie McCoy stepped out of the shadows and grinned at Candiedinia, embarassed. "Hey there, Candi. How's it goin' ?!" The woman before him crossed her arms and stared at him, blank faced. "Okay, I'll get down to the point then, no bird walkin'... There's someone who wants to set an arrangement with the two of you. I was going to talk to you both, but it got late." He stopped talking and fidgetted with his hands. Nervous habit. "I would recommend that you two don't turn it down. It's dangerous stuff to mess with these people and piss them off... Trust me." He looked at Candi, hoping to have softened her face a bit... It didn't work. "Okay then... How about I just leave my number with you, and you can call me later tonight.. Bye, Candi." He looked at the waffle iron. "You're burning your waffle." He was gone.

Candiedinia spun around and saw that her iron was smoking. "God damn you, Willie McCoy!!" She opened up the hot iron and scooped the burnt waffle into the sink. "I hate him..." She heard the shower still running and was wondering when Helena would come out of it. She hated being alone sometimes... And this was one of those times. With what just happened, she was paranoid. It wasn't to terrible, but it was a vampire in their apartment. She wasn't too fond of that idea...

Helena turned the shower off and rushed to get dressed in a new outfit for the day. This included black skinny jeans and a red halter top. She looked excellent in red. She walked out of the bathroom after blowdrying her hair and found her best friend in the kitchen. "Candi, that smells excellently burned." She grinned from ear to ear. She loved messing with her best friend. She loved getting on her last nerve. She sat at the table and looked down at a piece of paper that had a phone number on it. "Who's number is this?" She thought she recognized it but wasn't sure."

Candiedinia shoved the waffle down the garbage disposal and flipped its switch. She turned to her friend and frowned. "Willie McCoy. The burned waffle was all thanks to him. He snuck up on me, talked my ear off, and made me forget about it... Stupid jerk." Candi turned back to the waffle batter and poured another one. It's not that she disliked Willie solely because he was a vampire. He just creeped her out. But that was Willie. Sweet, but creepy.

Helena pulled the number closer and smirked. He was still working for the Master Bitch. "I'll call him when the sun goes down." She glanced at the waffle maker and shook her head. "I don't think I'm going to eat today...Well, this morning." She leaned back in the chair and let out a very long breath. This was probably why Jean-Claude had contaced her. He wanted to warn her.

Candi shrugged and buttered both waffles; afterwards, she poured syrup all over them, drowning them. She cut a bite out of the two of them and stuffed her mouth. She highly disliked being around all vamps. It reminded her of when she was back in Ireland. Everytime she was around a vampire, all the painful memories cam flowing back. I'm so glad to be in America now...
