Raum had the urge to growl in Rastus's direction. He held it back. "You may trust him, but I do not." He didn't care if he heard. Rastus knew Raum had a good reason not to trust him. He was the one they were hunting. For now, how would keep his mouth shut. Only for now. He looked over at Xavier and grinned. "Love sick puppy..." He mumbled.

He looked back to see if Raina was safe and was shocked to see her in Raum's arms already. At least she's smiling. I'd be smiling too if I were in those arms. He shook his head and turned back towards Alithia, smiling. His grip on her hand grew tighter as she looked back at him. "So, are you feeling well enough now that you've fed?" He was surprised that she hadn't made any protest to feed on his blood. He would imagine he tasted terrible...

Alithia nod her head at Xavier's question. "Shapeshifter blood is always better than human blood, so it helped a lot." She squeezed his hand and leg go. She was suddenly aware of a new presence. She wasn't so sure that this one would be a welcome one. It was silent and sneaky and would go quite unnoticed by Raina and Xavier, but the others surely had to know something was there. "Rastus..." She attempted to get his attention, to make sure he knew.

"I know, I feel it, too. It seems somewhat powerful, too." He drew his katana from his belt and held it at his side, ready. He may be out to kill someone in this small pack, but he wouldn't let anyone else do it before he oculd get the chance. "Raina, stand. Everyone needs to be reay to attack, if need be." The girl did as she was told, freeing Raum's arms, enabling him to fight.

She didn't hesitate to draw her gun and her blade and walk up to stand next to Rastus. Under different circumstances she might ask him to travel with her. He seemed to be a strong vampire and probably one hell of a fighter. He'd make a good partner. A fighting partner, of course. Her arm brushed his and she felt a tingle of power run through her. Holy shit... Yes, he would make an excellent partner. Too bad she didn't trust him...

Xavier's sword was quickly at his side as he ran to protect Raina. He couldn't chance her getting hurt. If it came down to it, he would grab her and take her far away from the danger. She was already searching for enough as it was. He pulled her close to him, feeling her body tremble against his. Poor girl was weak as Hell. Too bad she wouldn't drink blood from humans or anything that was once human. They all walked a few more feet when he felt Raina go limp in his left arm. Oh, great. "Guys! She just passed out. We need to figure out who this sucker is so we can find her an animal to feed off of..."

Raum groaned to himself. He puts her down and then BAM, she passes out. "What or who is it?" He looked over at Rastus and Alithia. They both stood in the same battle stance. Their facial expressions were almost identical. He frowned to himself. Rastus couldn't be trusted. He was up to something. Raum could not let Alithia get hurt. "Any clue, Rastus?"

Rastus's eyebrows furrowed as he concentrated. "It's a vampire...Scratch that, two. Though, I don't think they're together. Male and female. Female's at a farther distance. The male's here to attack. I can't sense what the female wants, not quite yet." Seconds later, the man emerged from the trees, two swords in hands. He recognized his face. Tyrinn. He was one of his guards; one of his best, actually. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Pity I have to lose you. Rastus upgraded his walk to a run and was soon head to head with Tyrinn. "Ugh!! You son-of-a-bitch! Stop moving! You're not going to win this fight, give up now." Tyrinn kept dodging his master's blade, eyes wide with fright. He misjudged Rastus's next move, and that mistake cost him his head. The blinking face rolled to Alithia's feet and stopped all movement after a minute, eyes staring into a dark void. Rastus wiped his sword off on a bloody cloth he pulled from a satchel. He looked at Alithia and smirked. "The female should show herself within the next several minutes."

Alithia stared at Rastus in awe. She wanted to run to him and throw herself into his arms. She knew it was his power doing this to her, but the feeling existed either way you looked at it. "Very nice." She whispered, yellow eyes gleaming. The vampire never had a chance. Rastus was well trained, that was for sure. She put her weapons away and continued to stare.

Rastus shook his head happily. "I'm surprised that I could impress you, Miss Batholem." He winked and shifted his weight to one side. He wouldn't put his blade away until he was sure this female proved not dangerous. Any minute now and she would be coming through the two trees directly in front of him. Her intentions were unclear. For some reason, her mind was protected. All he could sense was her power. There was a rustle of leaves, and then a cloaked figure appeared before their eyes. The moonlight glowed off her pale skin like a crystal. It almost made him think rainbows were going to flash and sparkle among the ground and trees. The violet velvet cape shown and softly blew in the wind. She was young. Just about as old as Raina. How could she be so powerful at such a young age? The girl was silent...Why was she so still? What was her purpose. Alithia was annoyed, he could feel it emenating from her body.

Alithia glared at the newcomer and turned to look at Rastus. What would he do about the newcomer? Would he treat her the same way he had the man? She walked closer to him and had the sudden urge to keep him away from her. She grabbed his arm and pulled him closer to her. The other two for some reason, she wasn't worried about. She let out a long low hiss and pressed her body against Rastus's territorially.

Rastus let out a low laugh and pulled Alithia closer to him, there was barely any breathing room. He kissed the top of her head softly and began stroking her hair, not like a pet, like a lover. He shot a sneer towards Xavier out of the corner of his eye and silently boasted. He turned back to face the newcomer and was shocked to see a face rather than a hood. Most of her hair was pulled back in pins that were the same black color of her hair. It shone a blue-black in the night light. Her ruby red lips matched her pupilless eyes. Her neck was decorated with pearls and black laced gothic chokers. Her attire was still invisible. "Who are you, stranger? What is your business in these woods?"

The girl gave a slight bow and opened her mouth to speak. "I apologize for the intrusion, everyone. I didn't mean to put your swords at the ready. My name is Adelicia. I've wandered these woods alone for some time now in search for a certain soul. When I felt your presence, I came running. It seems I have indeed found what I was looking for." Her voice carried through the night like a predator trying to manipulate their prey, though it wasn't intentional. It was a purr, a gentle caress, and she was looking at Rastus.

Alithia hissed loudly this time, stepping halfway in front of Rastus, one hand still grasping him, the otehr going for her gun. "I suggest you back the hell off." Her voice was cold enough to send chills down the devil's spine. Her eyes were crimson red and nearly glowing. Eyes to kill. She kept the gun at her side but clicked off the safety. Why was she feeling like this? Why did she feel that he belonged to her?

Rastus placed a hand on Alithia's forearm softly and nodded at her to back down. He moved between her and the new vampire, blocking her from attacking. They didn't want any trouble, not tonight. The sun would be up in four and a half hours, they needed to proceed forward in the journey. "I am Rastus. If the others trust you enough to reveal their own names, they will do so. It's not my name to give." He looked to Alithia and smiled lovingly. She was so cute when she was territorial.

Alithia snarled and hissed all at once. If she wasn't growing tired she would push Rastus aside and take her out. She glanced at the other three. Raum was on her side, Raiana was way too knocked out to be anything but neutral and Xavier nodded at her. Only Rastus seemed to really trust her. "I won't travel with her." Stubborn bitch. No one could ever change her mind. The only person who ever could was now dead. No one could ever compare...

He gave Alithia a nod and spoke. "Very well, then. Adelicia. I know you've been traveling far and for a long time. I'm sorry for what I'm about to request, but we're a pack. If one member is uncomfortable, we must make them comfortable. I will have to ask you to leave us. But offer my luck in staying safe." He bowed his head in sincer apology and smiled sweetly to his side at Alithia. He was hoping she was pleased. He didn't normally let a beautiful girl slip away so easily.

She bowed her head in return. "I understand, Rastus. You needn't explain, nor apologize. I will be on my way," She replaced the hood of her cloak to hide her flushing face, "for now." It was taking all her strength and power not to shed the tears developing in her eyes. Though, she figured he wouldn't be so accomedating towards her in this form. Her master wasn't aware of her own power. Someitmes, it was good. Other times, it was heart breaking; this was one of those times. "Farewell, then." Without another, she disappeared back into the trees.

Alithia smirked and looked down the path. "We need to carry on." She looked back at Rastus, eyes sparkling. She had gotten her way. Even the strongest of vampires let her have her way. Xavier caught her eye and she shot a reassuring smile at him. He was still her favorite. "We need to find a resting place soon..." Her eyes melted back to yellow as her mind calmed itself. She didn't like most females. They were greedy, over confident and always ended up being weak. They got in the way. She would let Raina be the exception.

His reassured smile faded back into a frown when Alithia's back was turned. he didn't like how easily Alithia's preference shifted. It bothered him, and he wasn't sure why. If things didn't change soon he would have to leave the "pack" for a while to clear his head. He was here for Raina and nothing or no one else. He couldn't get side-tracked. Xavier lowered his head to look at the young vampire in his arms. He hoped they could find soemthing for her, and soon.

Alithia knew that Xavier wasn't happy. She let out a sigh and decided to prove to him that a small piece of her did care. She was just lucky she had full strength or she wouldn't be able to do what she was about to attempt. "Raum, come here." He would know what she was up to. He didn't hesitate and walked over to meet her. "Give me your hand." He did and she closed her eyes, bringing both of their power into what she was doing. She was calling out, searching. Minutes later an assortment of animals surrounded them. "Snow White to the rescue..." She mumbled a bit irritably. She looked at Xavier and then down to the ground. She hated doing things for others, especially to prove something.

Xavier smiled gratefully at Alithia and Ruam. They honestly had no idea how much this single act meant to him. He gently placed Raina on the cool soil and fetched a nearby coon. He whispered his apologies to the animal and twisted its neck, quick and deadly. He tore open its skin and set it down to wake Raina. He gently shook her till she woke and placed the wound near her mouth. She looked at him and visciously snatched it from his hand. For ten minutes, he sat there, tearing and handing, tearing and handing. When she was finally finished, she stood. Xavier stood beside her and hugged her tightly He turned towards the other three and sighed. "Okay, well, let's go."

Alithia frowned and nodded. No attatchments. That was the rule. Raum would be the closest she'd ever had. "ead the way, Rastus." She turned and faced forward meeting no one's eyes. It was time for her to put her cold exterior up again. She had learned in her many years to never care. This would change nothing. What her and Xavier shared was only sex. They lusted and both got waht they wanted. It was over now. "Come on, Raum." She blinked a few times and continued on.

Rastus walked ahead of everyone, deep in thought. The woman from before had an aura of familiarity about her. Almost like he had not only been in her presence before, but also been inside her. It was a very strange emotion that he couldn't quite explain. They walked onward for a few more hours without any interuptions or confrontation. The forest began to shift life. The crickets went to rest and the birds began to sing. This was a bad sign seeing as Raina's still a baby. Her skin was too weak to cope with the sun's rays. "There's a town four miles just up here. We have to run, dawn is near..."

Alithia didn't have to be told twice. She ran and she ran fast. She would finally be able to run off her anger, her protectiveness over people who meant nothing...She would finish her journey and move on. That would be that. She'd see Raum again but not the others. She reached the town quickly and stood there, waiting. They'd cath up soon enough.
